Incorporated in 1893, the city of Kamloops is the major service center in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD). Kamloops is situated in the heart of British Columbia's Southern Interior in a scenic valley at the junction of the North and South Thompson Rivers. Kamloops is the third largest city in B.C. outside the Lower Mainland with about 80,000 people residing within its municipal boundaries.
